Nigerians Hail Crowd Management At PH Passport Office
Many Nigerians have expressed satisfaction with the high level of crowd management experienced at the e-passport office of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Port Harcourt.
Some Nigerians who spoke with newsmen in Port Harcourt during the week, said such was the handiwork of trained personnel.
A woman, who only gave her name as Grace, said all her contacts in the passport office had been friendly.
She marvelled at what she described as “high managerial acumen”, saying that such must be sustained.
According to her, managing a magnitude of crowd on daily basis without any flaw was commendable.
She said Nigerians must learn how to celebrate excellence, if they want to move the country forward.
“One of the problems we have in this country is that we magnify mediocrity. Once we stop that, things will begin to fall in line”, she said.
Others who pleaded anonymity noted that they have not recorded any obvious flaw regarding crowd management on the part of the officers of the passport unit.
They hinted that all guests sat on row to take passport which they said was part of the success story of the unit.
Though they said delay was experienced in some cases, but affirmed that such was due to work load associated with the nature of the unit.
Meanwhile, they have called on the Federal Government to consider the full digitalization of the passport unit in order to permanently address the issue of delay in passport process.
The Tide learnt that digitalization of the passport unit of NIS may be achieved before first quarter of next year.
