NFF President Visits S’Eagles Players
Ahead of FIFA World Cup qualifiers with Ghana, the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick has met some Super Eagles players, including Emmanuel Dennis and Samuel Kalu.
Pinnick said his visit was in furtherance to his earlier tweets about the plans of the federation to ensure that the team qualifies for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Dennis missed the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, after Watford refused to release him for the tournament, while on his part, he asked to be excused from the tournament, in order to focus on his club career.
However, the Watford forward could make a return to the squad ahead of the crackers in March against the Black Stars.
In another development, Amaju said he is proud of the commitment from Etebo, Iheanacho, Troost Ekong, and Ademola Lookman.
The FIFA Council member said that the central message of the visit was clear: that Nigeria must play at the World Cup and that Nigeria is going to the world cup to compete and not make up the numbers.
He praised the Sports Minister for his commitment and for joining over 30 members of the team through zoom.
