Rivers United’ll Extend Unbeaten Runs – Skipper
Rivers United’s Captain, Festus Austine says the team will extend its unbeaten runs against Wikki Tourists Football Club this weekend.
Austine stated that, draw against FC Ifeanyi Ubah was not a bad result, but he has put the result behind him and he is focusing on the next match against Wikki Tourists.
He explained that all the players were sad because of the draw against their visitors, but the spirit in the camp now was different, adding that all their attention has moved towards the next match.
The United’s skipper said this in a telephone interview with Tidesports yesterday, noting that the game was very important for United to grab the three points.
It was the match day 11 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) which Rivers United drew 1-1 against visiting FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Yakubu Gowon Staduim in Port Harcourt.
He noted that the players are motivated and they have pledged to give their best to make the fans and the supporters happy.
United has played 11 matches with 17 points and occupies the fifth position on the log.
