‘Rangers’ Loss, Very Disappointing’
The Flying Antelopes’ woes were compounded after the loss to the Owena Whales, and the defender was far from happy with the result
Etim Matthew describes the defeat handed to Enugu Rangers by Sunshine Stars as ‘very disappointing’.
The Super Eagles defender stated that the Enugu outfit were determined to clinch a win in Akure, but defensive errors denied them the desired result on Sunday.
“It’s a very disappointing result for us because we were determined not pick up a point but win here in Akure,” Matthew told Tidesports source.
“It’s really unfortunate that we lost a bit of loss of concentration [in the defence] which caused this loss, but we just have to pick up and prepare for the next task.
“I don’t agree with the penalty call because the referee was a bit far from the scene. Well, there’s a place for human error, after all, we all are human. We make mistake because we aren’t perfect.
“Apart from that, I think the officiating was excellent and I hope to see more good officiating at all league matches,” he concluded
