NFF Cancels Women’s ‘Super Six Date
The 2012 Super Six play-off of the Nigerian women Premier
League scheduled to commence tomorrow, in Abuja, has been put off by the
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with no new date announced.
Consequently, clubs preparing for the league season, during
competition have been thrown into disarray.
This was disclosed yesterday by the coach of Rivers Angels
FC of Port Harcourt, Whyte Obondah, during an exclusive chat with Tidesports.
According to him, the information got to the club Monday, as
the team was preparing to travel to Abuja for the competition.
We were set to leave for Abuja that Monday before we
received the message that the date has been cancel by the NFF. But the reason
for the cancellation was not disclosed to the club,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Coach promised to find out the reason for the
cancellation before Friday, as to know the next line of action.
It would be recalled that the date was earlier shifted from
17th to 27th of September in order to give the under-20 players who also played
in various club-sides in the country a week’s rest due to their trip from the
just concluded Women World Cup held in Japan.
The 2012 Women’s FA Cup competition follows immediately the
Super Six play off is concluded.
