2012 Governor’s Cup Draw Holds ‘Morrow
Draws for the 2012 Rivers State Governor’s cup football
competition is scheduled to hold tomorrow at the board room of the Alfred
Diette-Spiff Sports Complex, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Secretary of
the Rivers State Football Association (RSFA) Mr Ibigoni Benjamin-Akobo.
According to the FA scribe, the competition which is
expected to be among the 23 local government areas in the state would kick-off
on the 11th of next month.
He said that players who participated in any Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF) leagues up to amateur division in the current soccer
season would not be eligible to participate in the competition.
Players/teams are also required to show proof of medical
fitness/letter of undertaking adding that the organisers would not be liable in
any injury sustained during participation.
Meanwhile, prize money to be won in the competition ranges
from N5 million, N3 million, N2 million frist, second and third positions,
respectively.
The FA secretary further disclosed that quarter finalists
would be given transport subsidy Jerseys, while souvenirs and T-shirts would be
given to all participants.
Local Government Councils yet to inaugurated their football
council may not be allowed to take part in the competition.
