Minister Tasks Airline Operators On Global Standards
Airline operators in Nige
ria have been urged to improve on their services to meet global standards.
The Minister of Aviation, Mr. Osita Chidoka, made the call while speaking to newsmen after a familiarisation visit to the domestic wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos recently.
Chidoka said domestic airline operators in Nigeria must ensure that they comply with an acceptable international standards in their operations in the country.
The Minister denied the allegation that Federal Government was conspiring against the local airline operators, stressing that the Federal government will do everything to provide conducive environment for both the Local and Foreign airline operators in the country to thrive.
He urged the Local airline operators to remember that their businesses are not only run for Nigerians but they should go global for a more profitable service.
He said the Federal Government was prepared to do a lot of things to improve the internal operational systems in the aviation industry in order to compete with the global system.
The Minister said the government wants to create a safe and secure airports in the country.
He explained that the Federal Government would partner with other Local operators to ensure safe and secure, operational airports.
Chidoka said the government was ready to ideologically make a shift to partner with the Local operators to grow their businesses stressing that the partnership was being done in interest of the passengers and progress of the Local airline operators.
