IAM Gets Directors, State Chairmen
The International Association for Missions (IAM), a non-governmental organisation committed to Christian evangelism, especially in Islamic strongholds, has appointed 10 directors and three state chairmen for the organisation.
A statement from the association said IAM president, Rev (Dr) Moses Iloh made the appointments last Saturday at the board meeting of the body in Lagos.
The statement, signed by the association’s Head, Media/Publicity, Mr Ignatius Akwaji Ushie said Iloh charged the appointees to be of good conduct and to discharge their duties creditably since their appointments were based on merit and their commitment to serve God through evangelism.
The directors appointed, according to the statement included Pastor (Mrs) Lanre Kalejaiye, Director, Missions and Mobilisation, Pastor Kingley Anoka, Director, Research and Intelligence Unit, Evangelist Akaraiwe Beatrice I, Deputy Director, States Women Mobilisation, Pastor (Dr) Nike Adeyemi, Deputy Director, Christian Student Studies and Hon. Toyin George Taylor, Deputy Director, IAM Vision Promotion.
Also appointed were Bro Moses Iloh Jr, Deputy Director, Research and Intelligence, Sister Nene Okechi, Deputy Director, Missions Studies, Madam Mariam Y. Abatan, Deputy Director, Banking Operations, Bro R. O. Aigbe, Deputy Director, Foreign Registration and Pastor Ndukaku Saint Njoku, National Prayer Co-ordinator.
The statement said Pastor H. O. Oloyode, Rev Ralph Avoaja and Pastor Kizito Juberu were appointed chairmen for Edo, Enugu and Kogi states, respectively while Lady Evangelist Christabel Okoye was named FCT, Abuja women mobiliser.
Iloh, who was former president, Cycling Federation of Nigeria and Chairman, board of trustees, Movement for Credible Elections in Nigeria (MOCERIN) called on Nigerian churches to get involved in mission work in link with the great commission of Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18-20.
According to the statement the meeting approved the creation of the women wing of IAM to be headed by Rev (Mrs) Edith Iloh.
It said IAM is also committed to vision AD 2000 and Beyond, a euphemism for global inter-denominational Christian missionary movement aimed at reaching all unreached peoples of the world.
“This is the time for Nigerian churches to put one eye on their church and the other on world mission” the statement quoted Iloh as saying.
