‘Amaechi, Most Youth Friendly Governor’
The Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been described as the most youth friendly Governor since the creation of the state.
A cross section of Rivers youths who said this during the Niger Delta/Rivers State Celebrity and Youth Endorsement concert in Port Harcourt said that the Amaechi’s leadership and activities have become inspirations to millions of youths in the state.
The concert tagged “Youth Focus Education and Empowerment which took place at the Port Harcourt Polo Club also endorsed the governor for a second term in office.
The event also featured a number of Port Harcourt and Lagos-based artistes including Duncan Mighty, popularly known as Port Harcourt first son and Oba Omega.
The creative director of the programme, Ambassador Blessing Fubara stated the position of Rivers youths at the concert organised to showcase the achievements of Governor Amaechi especially in the area of youth development.
Fubara who addressed the teeming crowed at the concert listed overseas scholarship programme in which thousands of Rivers youths are beneficiaries as some of the achievements of the Governor.
According to him “big hops in town are no longer those who carry guns, but those who have money in their pockets.”
He therefore advised the youths to use their voters card to make a statement that the days of thuggery and bad governance are gone for good by voting for Amaechi during governorship election and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
The creative director spoke to newsmen later on the essence of the concert saying that the programme was designed to empower millions of youths across the state.
Also speaking, the concert’s Director Operations, Hon.Nweke Ekeledirichukwu said that Amaechi has touched the lives of Rivers youths in various ways.
He cited the prevailing peace and the various empowerment programmes for Rivers youths.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
