Rivers United Sure To Win Pillars In Kano
Captain of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, Festus Austin, has expressed optimism that his side will run away with points in Kano , in their week one match in the 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) season.
He stated that with the quality of players presently in the club, he has no doubt that they will win the match and make the State proud.
Austin said this in a telephone interview with Tidesports, yesterday, saying that the technical crew have done a good job, as they were taught new techniques during the preseason tour.
Rivers United FC will take its first shot against Kano Pillars, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano State, on Sunday.
He noted that playing against Pillars away would not by easy, following their pedigree.
“Kano Pillars is a great team in NPFL but this season, it will be a different ball game.
“The spirit in the camp is very high, players are working hard to grab the three points at stake in match day one. We are lucky playing away from home in the opening match” Austin said.
He commended the technical crew, as players have gotten the ability to score goals, saying the era has gone when players missed scoring chances.
According to him, the new unveiled players have promised to give their support to the club to ensure they win laurels for the club.
“ I am sure the new players would make an impact in the team,” he stated.
