The chairman and Chief
Executive of Bende Best Technical Work Nigeria Limited Chief Benjamin Ibigwe has said his company would soon commernce the production of tricycles popularly known as ‘keke’ in the country.
He said this during the official commissioning of his workshop Monday at Eliozu in Obio /Akpor Local Government Area. Ibigwe pointed out that his company had since concluded plans on how to replicate the Japanese technology in the country.
According to him, tripping to oversea to seck technical assistance was against the growth of local industries, rather attention should be given to some locally trained technicians in order to enable them grow.
The Chief Executive who is also trained local engineer, informed that the newly commissioned company would major on the sales, service and spare parts distribution of TVS brand of tricycle.
The Tide gathered that customer satisfaction, operators and riders confidence would be the key focus of the company.
Nwa Nnewi and Eyi OhaI of Oro-Igwe kingdom as he is variously called, said his workshop was commissioned in line with the international standard of tricycle repairs and maintenance.
He maintained that the era of seeking foreign experts to address issues in the country must come to an end, saying that Nigeria has all it takes to handle all its technical challenges. As a way of encouraging customers patronage, he said there would be five per cent discount of all purchases made during this yuletide season and free services.
While warning against the purchase and usage of substandard spare parts, he further charged riders to seek the assistance of well trained TVS technicians to fix their machines. In his response, the National sales manager, TVS, Mr Deji Olanijan, blamed part of the challenges encountered by operators on their attempt to handle or repair the machine by themselves.
Earlier, he had warned against the use of non prescribed lubricants for the engine, saying such practice reduces life span of the engine.
