Atu Irumekhai is hope
ful that MFM FC will take a step further in the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The Church Boys started their debut season in 2016 with a win away but lost momentum when it mattered most and had to rely on their last gas and coordinated prayers from their faithful fans on the last day beat the drop.
“We (MFM FC) are destined for greatness in 2017 if we continue to work hard and don’t get distracted because consistency is key. We have observed improvement in all department and hopefully so it will reflect in our performance next season.”
“Yes for sure from our experience last season it will even make us a better team because we now know what to expect before, during and after games.
“Honestly speaking, that’s true but that has improved, we won the highest goal scorer award at a preseason tournament we participated in this month.
“That’s to show that has been real improvement as regards we converting those chances we create.
“In modern football you can’t depend only on the strikers to get the goals for you. The defenders and midfielders got their names in the score sheet and that’s a thing of joy for us all,” Irumekhai told newsmen.
