Crime Reduction Our Priority – DPO
The new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Olu Obasanjo Police Station, SP James Abba, has restated his determination and zeal to reduce criminality to its barest minimum in the area.
Abba, who resumed office barely two months ago said car theft, other criminal activities within D/Line in Port Harcourt and other areas will be fought squarely.
He noted in an interview that adequate measures had been put in place to tackle crime in his area of jurisdiction.
Abba hinted that on assumption of office, he had made frantic efforts to curtail crime, saying routine check, barricade of some routes aimed at searching vehicles will be sustained.
He explained further that no stone will be left unturned in the protection of lives and property as maintenance of law and order is his priority.
The new DPO promised to replicate what he did at Okwuzi Division which yielded positive fruits which prompted him to be posted to Olu Obasanjo Division.
Abba said his Division has all it takes to confront any situation, saying the confidence reposed in him by the Commissioner of Police will be reciprocated.
He warned unwanted elements to desist or find their way out or face full weight of the law.
Abba appealed to residents of the area to make available useful information that could lead to the fight against crime in the vicinity.
He noted that the fight against crime could be won when all hands are on deck, saying the police cannot do it alone.
Abba said stop and search had helped tremendously to forestall car theft which had been the major challenge his Division had experienced even before his arrival.
Abba said there will be no compromise as the war against car theft ,kidnapping and other vices will be taken to their hideout
He thanked the new Commissioner of Police for his support

Iwobi Optimistic On S’Eagles Qualification
Iwobi spoke to Tidesports source ahead of Nigeria’s crunch playoff semi-final against Gabon on Thursday, November 13, in Rabat, Morocco.
The 28-year-old was reacting to Nigeria’s shaky World Cup qualifying campaign that saw the Eagles finish second in Group C behind South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
“We’ve managed to rescue ourselves from the dead,” Iwobi told Tidesports source.
We know we have the players and the abilities to compete against any other country in the world.”
The Fulham star pointed to Nigeria’s star power, highlighting African Footballer of the Year winners Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen as proof of the squad’s quality.
“We have last year’s African best player (Ademola Lookman), the year before that (Victor Osimhen),” he said.
“It’ll be a shame if we don’t make it, but we have a lot of confidence. We just have to prove it to ourselves.”
Nigeria’s path to the United States, Canada and Mexico has been turbulent, with two coaches departing during the early stages of qualifying before Éric Chelle steadied the ship to steer the Super Eagles into November’s CAF playoffs.
Four nations from the continent – Nigeria, Cameroon, DR Congo and Gabon – will vie for a solitary spot to compete in next March’s inter-confederation playoffs, with a view to joining the already nine qualified African nations at the Finals.
It would mark Iwobi’s second appearance at the World Cup Finals and the Super Eagles’ first since the 2018 edition of the competition.
Back then, Iwobi featured in all three games as Nigeria was knocked out in the group stage.
