PHCCIMA President Felicitates With Christians On Easter …Wants In Coming Government To Emulate Wike
The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Eze Mike Elechi, has felicitated with Christians all over the world as they mark the death cum resurrection of Jesus Christ and urged them to always reflect on the teachings of Christ while on earth.
Elechi said this shortly after his Easter prayers at his country home, Elele in Ikwerre Local Government Area last Sunday.
He noted that Christians should maintain the practice and teachings of Master Jesus and added that, “if the word of God are followed and obeyed, there will be relative peace in the country and beyond”.
The PHCCIMA President stated that the word of God was quite explanatory to the understanding of mankind and posited that the missing link was the quest for power and greed amongst men.
Such, he said, has forced the ordinary people to adopt a self-help approach, which, according to him, has given rise to crime and violence in every part of the country.
He also tasked Christians on the need to use the season of 2023 Easter celebration to pray for peace and unity of Nigeria, especially now that the elections are over.
Sir Elechi, who also is a Knight of Good Shepherd, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), further described the Easter season as a period of sobber reflection, hence the call on Nigerians to pray for the country in order to overcome the hardship experienced over the years.
“I Pray God Almighty to have mercy on His children. Political class, please enthrone good governance for the betterment of the ordinary Nigerian”, he said.
The National Productivity award winner, who also doubles as the Chairman, Rivers State Productivity Committee, called on the Executive and the Judiciary to make good legislations and policy statements that will usher in conducive environment for business activities to thrive, wherein foreign investors will have zeal to invest and the young people will be empowered and have no reason to take up arms.
The PHCCIMA Boss, who extended his salutations to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, on “his developmental giant strides with visible projects spread across communities in the state”, urged the in-coming government under the watch of Sir Sim Joseph Fubara to emulate and consolidate on the achievements of the out-going governor.
