Delta: Okowa Clears Air On N150bn Bridging Finance
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has clarified issues about N150 billion “Bridging Finance” facility he recently obtained from the state House of Assembly, saying, it is not a fresh loan but an advance from the N270 billion owed the state by the Federal Government.
Many people in the State had questioned the approval of the facility by the House of Assembly.
Okowa made the clarification on yesterday at the quarterly media briefing at the Press Centre, Government House, Asaba.
He explained that the N150 billion had been tied to projects embarked upon by his administration and that of his predecessor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.
He pointed out that his administration would not take any decision that would jeopardise the peace, unity and overall transformation of the state.
