LG Boss Tasks Security Agents On Protection Of Lives, Property
The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Mrs Anengi Barasua, has called on security agents to redouble their effort to protect lives and property during and after the yuletide season.
She expressed preparedness to support the security agents in all ramifications to ensure that there is peace and orderliness especially, in the Christmas celebration.
Mrs Barasua stated this while briefing newsmen in Bonny, at the weekend, saying that the role of peace and orderliness in any given society can not be over-emphasised.
According to her, one thing she can never compromise is the area of security, adding that her priority is to flush out criminality in the area.
“As council boss, I am prepared to give full support to the security agents to ensure that there is total calm and orderliness.
I am reassuring the residents of the area that adequate security measures have been put in place to sustain the existing peace”, Mrs Barasua said.
The LGA boss equally warned all criminal elements, especially cultists to refrain from it, saying that it will not be business as usual for criminals in the area.
She used the forum to commend the Governor of the State, Chief Nyesom Wike, for bringing peace in the State, stating that in recent times there are no more kidnapping, armed robbery and cultism.
The chairman said, the success she recorded in terms of peace and security was as a result of the security architecture put in place by the governor.
Mrs Barasua, also lauded security agents in the area, over their effort to fight crime, but urged them to be committed, and expressed commitment to engage the youths meaningfully, so thta they will not be tempted to commit crime.
