Grassroots Tournament Best Way To Discover Talents – Coach
The Head Coach of SKE Development Side FC of Port Harcourt, Tonye Omulabo, has said that grassroots football competitions are one of the best ways to discover young talents in the game of football.
According to him, grassroots football coaches had been clamouring for tournaments in the state for them to discover new talented players.
Omulabo stated this at the weekend, in a chat with Tidesports, in Port Harcourt, saying that coaching young players is making him happy because they understand fast.
“ I think teenagers learn faster because they pay more attention than the adults.
Whatever ideas you bring to them they understand it easier.
They are willing to learn so it is not difficult teaching them,” Omulabo said.
He revealed that the team was about five months old, but expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance.
“ I think they are till learning. They are really fantastic.
Honestly, competition is the best way to showcase hidden talents.
We were clamouring for tournaments at the grassroots but today Keves football competition has bought the youth together,” he stated.
