An insurance firm, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, says its mobile application and USSD code introduced into the Nigerian insurance market will make insurance products and services available and affordable to a larger number of Nigerians at home and abroad.
The company stated this in a statement by its Head, Sales and Corporate Communications, Segun Bankole, titled ‘Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc rolls out mobile app and USSD’.
The statement quoted the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company, Olaotan Soyinka, as saying the two technological additions from the company were geared towards enhancing customers’ experience and ease of insurance transactions.
He said the company would constantly look for ways of delighting its customers both at home and in the diaspora.
Also, the Executive Director and Divisional Head, Technical, Jude Modilim, in the statement, explained the benefits of the app to include easy purchase of insurance policies such as third-party motor insurance, personal accident insurance cover, marine insurance and all-risks insurance cover.
He said the app would provide an easy and faster way to submit and track customers’ claims, adding that it was designed to help customers manage their insurance policies.
According to him, “Customers and agents can also make use of the insurance wallet on the mobile app while there is also the availability of pins and wallets for agents and brokers in carrying out their transactions on the mobile app.
“Other benefits include automatic and immediate updating of records on the Nigerian Insurance Industry Database, and renewal notifications and reminders of insurance policies”.
