My Team Will Not Be Distracted – Bosso
Flying Eagles Coach, Ladan Bosso, says his team will not be distracted by any change in venue or time for the WAFU Under-20 tournament which has initially to hold in Togo.
Tidesports source gathered that Togo was initially slated to host the tournament from November 18 to December 2 but recently withdrew from hosting citing COVID-19 issues.
The West Africa Football Union (WAFU) are now due to announce a new host between Niger and Ghana who are on standby.
Bosso however emphasised that the team will continue to intensify training at the FIFA Goal project pitch, Abuja so as not to be caught napping.
“We will not be distracted by any change in venue or time, our goal is to build a solid team before the tournament.
“We will continue our physical and tactical routines and engage in more friendly matches to fine tune our strategies for the battle ahead,” he said.
The experienced coach said the announcement of the 25-man provisional list will be slightly delayed due to the change in venue and one or two injuries in camp.
He said the team is beginning to gel and show more character after a recent hard fought 2-1 win in a friendly against Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Academy of Lagos.
The coach expressed optimism that the team will do Nigeria proud at the tournament and ultimately pick a ticket for the 2021 U-20 AFCON in Mauritania.
Tidesports also reports that the team has intensified preparation with tactical trainings in the morning and physical training in the evening.
Nigeria are drawn in Group B of the qualifying tournament, alongside Ghana’s Black Satellites and the Junior Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.
Initial host, Togo, Republic of Niger, Benin Republic and Burkina Faso will battle it out in Group A, from which the top two teams will qualify to represent the zone at the 2021 Under-20 AFCON.

PH To Host 2026 NWFL Super Six
In a statement released by the league, the competition is scheduled to take place from Friday, June 5 to Sunday, June 14, 2026, with six clubs set to battle for the league title at the end of the 2025/26 season.
NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, said the choice of Port Harcourt reflects the Rivers State Government’s continued support for women’s football and its successful hosting of the league’s Annual General Assembly last year.
The Super Six tournament will feature the top three teams from Group A and Group B of the regular season competing in a round-robin format, with each club playing five matches over nine days.
Qualified teams for the competition include defending champions Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, Rivers Angels, Robo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, and debutants Abia Angels.
The NWFL Premiership has produced four different winners in the last five editions, with Rivers Angels winning in 2021, Bayelsa Queens claiming the title in 2022 and 2025, Delta Queens triumphing in 2023, and Edo Queens emerging champions in 2024.
The league also urged participating clubs to comply with all competition regulations and directives ahead of the championship. The Super Six will determine Nigeria’s representative for the WAFU-B qualifiers for a place at the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League and ultimately the 2027 FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.
Teams are expected to arrive on Friday, June 5, when the draw ceremony and pre-match meeting will also take place. Matchdays are scheduled for June 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14, with rest days in between before the tournament concludes with the trophy presentation ceremony.
