Makinwa Reveals Reason Behind His Exit
Henry Makinwa has confirmed his departure from Nigeria Professional Football League side, Katsina United.
The former Abia Warriors coach revealed to newsmen that he decided to quit the team following changes in the government policy.
Makinwa said Katsina state government passed a new policy that will allow 90 per cent of indigenes of the state to have the opportunity to play for the team next season.
“Yes I parted ways with the club, because of the change in state government policy,” he said.
“They wanted to give their indigenes more opportunities, and I don’t have a problem with that”, “ he said.
Makinwa who has a UEFA Pro license also confirmed the decision as nothing to do with money, contrary to the reports in the media.
“They paid everything they owed me before we parted ways on mutual consent, so it was about government policies and not matter of salaries”, he concluded.
Makinwa, who signed for Katsina United in September 2019 will now be replaced by homeboy Bishir Sadauki, who has been with the Changi Boys for over a decade.
