Oil Firm Restates Commitment To Develop Egi Kingdom
The management of Total E&P Nigeria Limited has restated its commitment towards the development of its host community, Egi Clan in Ogba Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Managing Director, Total E&P, Mike Songster disclosed this while speaking at the Igwa-Iji Egwu-Ogba (New Yam Festival) held at Erema Community in Egi Clan, yesterday.
The Managing Director who was represented by the General Manager JV Onshore, Total E&P, Herman Vossen said the company has enjoyed a robust partnership with Egi and commended the people of Egi Kingdom for their peaceful disposition and hospitality.
The manager also lauded the people of Egi for their adherence to cultural values and described the festival as a true identity of the people.
In his remark, the Monarch of Egi Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, King Prof.Anele Nwokoma Eze Egi 111(Eze Ogba-Ukwu) of Ogbaland said the new yam festival was first fruit offering to herald bountiful blessings in Egi Kingdom.
The monarch expressed satisfaction over the new wave of peace and development in Egi Kingdom and commended Total for its contributions towards the development of Egi Kingdom and urged Total to do more in promoting economic development in Egi Kingdom.
He assured that Egi will continue to enjoy peaceful coexistence under his reign and called on all stakeholders in Egi Kingdom to embrace peace and development.
