Rivers Set To Host S’South Sports Directors, Today
Rivers State Government has concluded plans to host South South directors of sports in Nigeria, today in the boardroom of Alfred Diete- Spiff Sports Complex, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
Director of Sports in the state, Evangelist Ezekiel Ordu revealed this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports, yesterday in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the meeting was basically to discuss matters affecting the zone in terms of sports development and the commissioner for sports in the state, Hon. Boma Iyaye is expected to deliver a speech in the meeting.
“ Our meeting here today will also dwell more on the review of the just concluded 4th edition of National Youth Games, that held in Ilorin, Kwara State,” Ordu said.
He equally said that the meeting will also spell out the modalities of zonal elimination for the forthcoming National Sports Festival, billed to take place in Abuja, December this year.
“ This will be another avenue to discuss about the welfare of directors of sports in the zone.
“I want to say that the South South is one of the most co-ordinated zone when its comes to sports, that is the more reason we are dominating” he stated.
