Nigeria, Cameroon Struggle For Supremacy …Nigerians Sure Of Victory
Today, Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (Nest of Champions) in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, will be on focus in African continent , as Super Eagles host the reigning African champions Cameroon .
It will be the first leg of the double header in the World Cup qualifiers for the road to Russia 2018. The encounter will kick-off 4.00pm Nigerian time.
In spite of the fact that Super Eagles lost 2-0 in Uyo to South Africa, in one of the games of Africa Nations Cup qualifiers, most Nigerians are still optimistic that Eagles will beat the Cameroonians.
Frontline sports presenter in Nigeria, Lashley Oladigbolu, said the encounter is important to both teams, because the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will do everything to upset Super Eagles.
Oladigbolu beliefs that Super Eagles will carry the day to keep their quest to World Cup alive, saying that the game will dictate efficiency of the team put together by Gernot Rohr in a bid to stay on top of group A.
Sports enthusiast, Emem David, shared same view with Oladigbolu, but advised the coach to do his team selection without sentiments. She predicted 2-0 in favour of Nigeria.
Former supporters’ club chairman of the defunct Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, Otis Asonye, said the only way Nigeria can win the match is to blend the foreign based andhome-based professionals.
He also advised the coach not to solely rely on theforeign-based professionals. But he gave the game to the Eagles.
Another sports enthusiast, Ipalibo Briggs said Super Eagles will win because right now they have a formidable team that are ready to win matches and also predicted 2-0 against Cameroon.
