19th NSF: Rivers Basketball Association Intensifies Preparation

Basketball Association says intensive trainings are on for the forthcoming 19th National Sports Festival (NSF) tagged “Paradise Games” scheduled to hold November, in Calabar, Cross Rivers State.
This was disclosed at the weekend by the male basketball Coach Dagogo Okumgba in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the team is currently under going adequate preparation to enable them (team) compete favourably when the NSF eventually kicks-off next month.
“Though we are not yet sure if the competition would hold on the said date or not we just want to do our part to ensure success at the fiesta come November”, Okumgba said.
He explained that the players are in high spirit and are determined to win medals at the competition.
“So far, I can assure you we have seasoned players on ground who are ready to win laurels for the state. The athletes are poised to do Rivers people proud”, he added.
Coach Okumgba also, urged the athletes to remain focused and not to relent on the pace of their readiness to achieve their goal.
It would be recalled that the team trains Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the basketball court situated at Niger Street, Old Port Harcourt Township.
