Wike, God’s Gift To Bring Peace To Rivers – Ogor
The Peoples’ Democratic
Party (PDP) Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Hon Leo Ogor, has said that the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike is God’s gift to the state, with the mandate to retrieve the state from the clutches of enemies of the peace and development.
Ogor, who stated this at the thanksgiving and victory celebration organised by the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt, recently, to appreciate God for His wondrous works in the restoration of the mandate given Wike by Rivers people in the April 11, 2015, elections, added that God has given the governor the chance to take the state to enviable heights never before anticipated.
The House minority leader challenged members of the party in the state to rededicate themselves to the ideals of the party, and continue to cooperate and support the governor to achieve remarkable milestones that would engrave the state in gold in all areas.
In an exclusive interview with The Tide, the state Commissioner for Budget and Economy Planning, Isaac Kamanu, said he believed that God would use Wike to transform the state through massive infrastructure development and economic rejuvenation of the state.
Kamalu expressed the hope that PDP would be victorious in the forthcoming March 19 rerun elections to fill 22 seats in the state House of Assembly, 12 seats in the House of Representatives and three seats in the Senate, saying that the party’s pedigree would be sustained to re-enact the success of previous elections in the state.
Also speaking, PDP Women Leader in Ogoni, and Commissioner (IV) in the Rivers State House of Assembly Service Commission (RSHASC), Chief Charity Deemua, expressed gratitude to the governor for the pragmatic partnership with security agencies with the aim of returning peace and development to Rivers people.
