Non Payment Of Salaries: FC Taraba Players Continue Strike
FC Taraba players
have continued their “sleeping strike” at the Government House in Jalingo for a four straight day as they continue to press for the payment of their salaries running to 11 months.
Players of relegated Taraba are yet to be paid despite various promises.
They were only recently brutalised by soldiers during a peaceful protest and have now been camping out at the Government House since Monday for the Governor to address their plight.
Taraba striker Stephen Adah said: “We need the Governor to address us before we will leave this place. The players have been falling sick, but no player is ready to leave this place.
“We need to get paid, we have laboured for 11 months, suffered but all to no avail.
The chief of staff of the Taraba Government has addressed us, but the man has been lying to us. Let Governor come and tell us he will not pay us.”
