Plateau Spends N500m On Court Complex

Government has said that it has spent the sum of N500 million for the building of a high court complex in Jos, the state capital.
The State Commissioner for Justice, Mrs. Oliver Dazem, who disclosed this to journalists in Jos said that the total sum the State government had spent so far for the construction of the complex amounts to at least N500 million.
She said that the measure taken by the government was part of the initiatives to provide a conducive environment for the dispensation of justice.
Dazen posited that the essence of the project was to ensure a comfortable accommodation for justice delivery, adding that judges need a comfortable complex for justice delivery.
According to her, the present complex is a legacy given to them but it requires a change due to the current realities and innovation in the judicial system.
“It is a dream come true for the legal profession to get to this level in the state,” the commissioner said.
The commissioner also applauded the government for establishing a lasting legacy in the judicial sector.
Also, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Silvanus Dantoe told journalists that he was very impressed with the level of work done at the site.
Dantoe said with every indication, the present government would take the project to a level that the next government would quite appreciate the job done.
