African Side Can Win U-20 W/Cup -Ghana Coach
Ghana Under-20 coach Sellas Tetteh believes an African side has a great chance of winning the upcoming World Youth Championship in New Zealand.
Tetteh led Ghana to Africa’s first ever Under-20 World Cup title in 2009.
Ghana, Mali, Nigeria and Senegal all qualified for this year’s tournament by reaching the semi-finals of the ongoing African Under-20 Championship.
“The four teams have shown quality. They can go as far as winning the World Cup,” Tetteh told Tidesports source.
The African Under-20 Championship will reach its conclusion on 22 March.
Nigeria faces Ghana in the last four today and tomorrow Mali will take on hosts Senegal.
Despite already meeting the objective of qualifying for the World Cup, Tetteh gave assurances that his side remain focused on winning the trophy.
“We have the hunger,” he insisted. “We are going into the semi-final against our old friends Nigeria. The two are football-loving countries and we want to play good football.
“We are well motivated and committed and we are going to do everything we can to win it.”
The 2015 Under-20 World Cup will be played from 30 May to 20 June

Poor welfare forced me to dump Delta for Enugu, says world – Nwachukwu
The sudden departure of Nwachukwu, a multiple gold medallist, from Team Delta to the Coal City, Enugu , sparked controversy within the sports family, with officials of Delta State Sports Commission accusing the president of the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria, Sunday Odebode, of manipulating the system for the athlete to dump the state.
But Nwachukwu, who broke the World Record to win a gold medal for Team Nigeria in the Women’s Discus F42 event at the just-concluded Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, has cleared the air on the circumstances that led to her movement to Enugu State.
Speaking with The Tidesports source report, shortly after winning the gold medal, Nwachukwu said: “It is not true that anybody aided my movement from Delta State to Enugu. Rather, it was Delta State that forced me to leave because of poor remuneration.
