Rivers Cricket League Starts January, 17

Cricket League has said that competition for the 2014/2015 season would start on the 17th of this month as defending champions Panthers Cricket Club encounters K-11 Cricket Club in a contest. Coach Tonye Timinadi stated this in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt yesterday.
He explained that the league would resume on 17th of this month with match between Panthers Cricket Club and K-II Cricket Club, while the next match is scheduled to hold on the 24th of January, 2015 between Benvic Cricket Club and  Whales Cricket Club of Port Harcourt.
According to him, the match venue remains the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Choba Cricket Oval.
He, however, urged players to be focused and take their training seriously in order to bring out the best in them and excel in the competition.
He also commended the players for being disciplined since the commencement of the league and urged them to sustain the good works.
It would be recalled that Panthers Cricket Club thrashed Whales Cricket Club by 122 runs in their last match.
