APC’ Il Salvage Nigeria-Nwuke
The lawmaker representing
Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke has expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its challenges if candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) are voted for in the forthcoming general elections.
Hon. Nwuke who was speaking last Saturday at the APC’s Ward-to-Ward campaign in Etche Local Government Area said the PDP-led federal government had brought untold hardship to Nigerians.
He decried the poor state of the Nigerian economy and high level of insecurity in the country and urged the people of Etche to support the APC to sweep out bad leadership during the elections.
“We want a charge to autocracy. The economy is bad. The value of naira has fallen greatly. Join APC to sweep out bad leadership during the elections,” he said.
He lamented that the ceding of 44 oil wells belonging to Etche to Abia State by the Jonathan government had impoverished the people of Etche, stressing that past administrations in the country rather contributed to the development of the state.
Hon. Nwuke urged the people to vote for APC candidates at the forthcoming general elections and reminded them that the APC gubernatorial candidate in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside during his tenure as commissioner for works supervised all the road projects executed by Governor Amaechi in Etche.
He used the opportunity to debunk the allegation in certain quarters that he misappropriated the money for a road project in the area, saying “I have not eaten any man’s money or governemnt’s money.”
He urged his detractors to desist from campaign of calumny and reiterated his commitment to the development of Etche.
The ward-to-ward campaign witnessed a large turn-out by APC members and supporters in the LGA, including the Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Okey Amadi, the lawmakers representing Etche constituencies I and 2 at the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Amadi and Golden Ben-Chioma, the Care-taker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Council, Hon. Reginald Ukwuoma etc.
The high point of the campaign was the defection of scores of PDP members at Egbu War 2, led by Oguamanam Success to APC.
Hons. Nwuke, Amadi and Ben-Chioma are seeking re-election as lawmakers.
