W’ Bank Spends N8.9bn On Kaduna Roads

The World Bank has said
that it would spend N8.9 billion on the  construction of rural roads across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State.
the state Project Coordinator, Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP),  Mr Musa Tete, told the newsmen in Kaduna that N7.4 billion was earmarked for the construction and maintenance of 470 kilometres of rural roads.
He said that N1.5 billion had been spent on the construction of 137 bridges in the state.
Tete also disclosed that the state government had remitted its 20 per cent counter-part funding.
He said the roads would help in transportation of farm produce to the nearest markets.
“It would also help in transporting people with medical problems to the nearest primary health care centres,” he said.
The coordinator said the bank had also pledged to repair more rural roads in the state under the second phase of the project commencing in October
