Coach Wants Government To Invest In Basketball
The Head Coach, Delta
Basketball Association, Kenneth Mfon, has called on government at all levels to encourage basketball in secondary schools by investing in it.
Mfon told newsmen that encouraging basketball in secondary schools would help to engage the youth.
He noted that basketball was one of the entertaining and exciting games that could help to change the mindset of youths, especially at their tender age.
Mfon, however, lamented that little attention was being paid to the game in the country.
He also appealed to philanthropists to invest in basketball by providing training facilities.
“This will go a long way in encouraging the youth to take to the sport. Basketball is capable of changing the mindset of the youth,’’ Mfon said.
He also called on youths to take to the game, stressing that they could become professionals and earning their living from it.
