The Chairman of Nembe Oil and Gas Committee (NOGC), has raised alarm over the spread of oil spillage from the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) facility in Sabatoru and Ijeta-Ewoma to Brass ocean.

Nengi James in an interview with The Tide condemned the non-challant attitude of the Agip toward the oil spillage which could cause damage in the ocean.

James who also doubles as the National Coordinator of the Niger Delta Freedom Fighters (NDFF) called on the Federal and Bayelsa State Governments to quickly intervene on the issue before it gets out of hand.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has dismissed the suit filed by the Cross River State Government challenging the ceding of 76 oil wells to Akwa Ibom State by the National Boundary Commission (NBC).

In a judgement delivered by Justice Bode, the court held that the removal of Bakassi from Cross River State makes it uncapable of owning oil wells in waters.

The Justice dismissed the case for lack of merit.

In his reaction, Counsel to the Cross River State government, Paul Iwu-Emukoro alleged that the judgement delivered by the Supreme Court was politically motivated rather than geographical reason.
