A Port Harcourt- based tabloid had speculated that Prince Emma Anyanwu, among others were in the race for the election that will see any of them represent the Rivers East Senatorial district in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly.

However, the Etche-born industrialist and philantropist says the publication has no iota of truth in it as he has not discussed nor informed anybody or group of persons that he was interested in contesting any position whatsoever.

“I want to make it categorically clear that i have at no time whatsoever discussed or informed anybody that I am interested in any elective position. The publication was fabricated by either the publisher or those sponsoring what is outright falsehood,” he declared

Prince Anyanwu stressed that he was more preoccupied with joining forces with progressive minded Nigerians on how to help President Goodluck Jonathan succeed on the joint ticket he held with late President Umaru Yar’adua come 2011.

“As political activities gather momentum towards the 2011 general elections, desperate politicians will stop at nothing to blackmail others. This makes it imperative for journalists to be sure of their facts before going to the press.

“Journalists should also be careful about what they publish and not not use their medium to cause uneccessary tension in the polity. They should be professional in their conduct and publish only what are facts,” he stressed.

The political stalwart called on all Nigerians to rally round President Goodluck Jonathan in his efforts to make Nigeria better.

Prince Anyanwu lauded the Solomon Lar-Ied Northern Summit which met last week in Kaduna, for their wisdom in endorsing President Jonathan to complete the joint ticket he had with late President Yar’Adua.
