Gun Shot Survivor Relives Ordeal
A student Mr Edidiong Ibanga, who was shot last week by unknown gunmen in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom, has described his survival as a miracle.
In an interview with our correspondent on his sick bed at Ikot Abasi General Hospital on Saturday, Ibanga said he thanked the good Samaritan who picked him up and took him to Ikot Abasi General Hospital for medical attention.
Ibanga said one bullet was extracted from his stomach after undergoing a surgical operation at the hospital.
“On my way coming back from school, I heard a gunshot, I didn’t know that they were kidnappers.
“I thought that they were robbers at the junction, but before I opened my eyes, someone shot me and passed.
“I fell down, cried and shouted that somebody should help me.
“One man rushed and carried me to the hospital. I thank God I am alive,’’ he said.
