Eguavoen Relishes Partnership With Lagerback
Austin Eguavoen is optimistic that his working relationship with new Technical Adviser Lars Lagerback will be a good one.
Eguavoen and the rest of the Nigeria backroom staff met with Lagerback in Abuja after the Swede signed his contract with the NFF, and the former defender says he came away with a good impression of his new boss.
“He is a serious man, a likeable man. We met him briefly and he gave us his opinion. But he also told us not to shy away from anything and to always open up, speak our minds and give our opinions no matter what.
“I believe we are going to have a good working relationship where everybody will do his own bit to see that the team does well”, Eguavoen said.
Largerback is due back in the country this weekend, but will head for South Africa immediately to inspect Nigeria’s World Cup base camp at Richards Bay.
