Garden City Games: Cycling Association Assures On Performance

Rivers State Cycling Association Chairman, Pastor Alex Enebeli, says the Association is preparing to be the best in the forthcoming 2010 Garden City Games” billed to old in Port Harcourt.

Enebeli stated this Sunday, during a dinner party organised for members of the association at the Hotel le Meridian.

According to him, the association did better at the last festival, saying that, the team won 5 medals for the state at the 2009 National Sports Festival tagged “KADA 2009” held in Kaduna State.

He continued that the team is preparing to be the best by emerging the best in terms of medals won among all competing states.

Enebeli’s assurance is hinged on the state government’s approval for equipment and facilities for athletes to enable them train effectively in order to bring out the best in them.

“Though the government has done their own part, at the level of the board, we are preparing seriously to face challenges associated with the task ahead”, he said.

He explained that the team just came from Calabar and Ogun states after participating in competitions intended to ascertain the preparedness of the team.

The dinner was organised in appreciation of efforts put in by everybody in the Association, and to create room for interaction by all.
