The Deputy National President of Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Chief Jimmy Coker has commended Ghana for making Africa proud in the just-concluded FIFA Under-20 World Soccer Championship in Egypt.

Speaking to Tidesports in a telephone soon after the match, Chief Coker said the Ghana players were well coordinated and took the game seriously from start to finish, and expressed delight that this was the first time an African country had won the coveted trophy.

According to him, there is a lot to learn from the players, as they played organised and co-ordinated football which earned them the victory. He thus, called on Nigeria players to borrow a leaf from Ghana for future championships.

He described the Ghanaians as business-like with the focus to make their fatherland proud by ensuring that they left no stone unturned to ensure they achieved their target and make Ghana and Africa proud.

The YSFON deputy national president who did not hide his feelings, said it would have been bad for the continent if African country won the championship in 30 years with the continent hosting it twice. He further added that talents abound in Africa but the countries lacked coordination and early preparation.

Chief Coker however, called on the football authorities in Nigeria to go back to the drawing board and do a proper planning for future championships.
