Congo Holds North Korea In France
Congo Brazzaville and North Korea battled to a goalless draw in a friendly on Tuesday in France.
The North Koreans, who have qualified for the World Cup in South Africa, were unlucky not win creating more chances than Congo.
Congos’s Lucien Aubey, who plays in France for Rennes, felt his side was unlucky not to win the game.
“We played well and I think we should have won we had two good chances to score goals,” he told BBC Sport.
“But we are happy that we didn’t concede a goal and we had a lot of chances.
“It’s good for the confidence. I think the manager, the country and the players are very happy.”
North Korea were playing just their second match in Europe in 43 years following a 0-0 draw with French second-division club Nantes last week.
The last time North Korea played in Europe was at the 1966 World Cup in England.
They reached the quarter-finals in 1966 beating Italy on the way before losing 5-3 to Portugal.
