Obi Picks APGA Nomination Form For 2010 Guber Election
As the race for the 2010 governorship election in Anambra State hots up, Governor Peter Oil last weekend picked the All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) nomination form with a call on the independent national Electoral Commission to allow people of the state elect their leaders.
Obi who stated this at the APGA national secretariat in Abuja observed that all the procedure for the collection of nomination form as approved by the National Working Committee of the party has been met.
Accordingly, he submitted to the national secretary of the party his three years tax clearance certificate, a letter from his ward chairman authenticating his membership of APGA and a bank draft for the sun of N4.5 million, being the prescribed fee for the form.
Speaking to journalists later, Governor Obi said all that the party in the state was asking for is a free and fair election in the country, particularly the 2010 governorship election in Anambra.
Commenting on the perceived faction in the party, Obi said that if the law was followed and Obeyed, the authentic leadership is not and cannot be in question, adding that the courts of the land have unequivocally declared who the real leaders of APGA are.
