Mpi Advises RATTAWU Exco
The Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Information, Dr. Godwin Mpi has enjoined the out-going state executive members of Radio, Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), to support the next executive members to ensure progress for the union.
Dr. Mpi gave this advice when the present executive members of RATTAWU paid him a valedictory visit in his office.
The Permanent Secretary commended the team for the progress the Union had witnessed in their two-tenure and ask them to do more.
He however promised that the Ministry will do everything in its powers to assist the group in their forthcoming 11th triennial State Delegate Conference and in the hosting of their National Conference billed for later in the month.
In his address, the Chairman of RATTAWU, Mr. Christian Saro Ganale thanked the State Government, for the support it had given to the Union under his leadership and the Ministry of Information for its open doors.
He thanked the Permanent Secretary for his support since he mounted the leadership position of the Ministry.
Mr. Ganale appealed to the Permanent Secretary to assist the Union in the hosting of its National Conference, and its 11th Triennial State Delegate Conference which comes up in September, 2009.
It would be recalled that the present leadership of the RATTAWU came into office in 2002 and spent two-tenure, the triennial State Delegates Conference is expected to usher in new Executive Members for the Union.
