PDP Plans To Take Over Anambra
Anambra State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of Mr Uchenna Emodi has vowed to deliver the state to the party, saying it was ready for the 2010 election.
Also, the party has denied that there was a rift in Abuja between its executive and members of the state Assembly who were also on a visit to the national headquarters.
Emodi told newsmen that there was no going back in capturing the state, insisting that the party would reclaim all the positions starting from the governorship position.
“Already all Anambraians are yearning for us to take charge and we are already working hard for our victory”.
Also, a statement signed by Afam Ilounoh, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), which was made available to newsmen, denied that there was clash or bickering between the members from the state as well as the party’s state executives that visited the headquarters of the party on Thursday in Abuja.
His words: “My attention has been drawn to some newspaper report which stated that there was a clash of interest between two visiting teams from Anambra State at the National Headquarters of our party.
“For avoidance of doubt, nothing of such happened as the two groups, viz the state PDP executive and the state Assembly members, were on separate missions and on the official invitation of the national chairman”
Ilouno urged the press to treat reports on Anambra State PDP fairly, especially as considering that the chapter was still recovering from internal crisis, which almost crippled the party.
He said that the entire PDP in Anambra State was one big family, including elected members of the party, saying that the report was incorrect.
