Heartland’s Coach Attributes Defeat To Fatigue, Carelessness
Heartland Football Club Assistant Coach, Ezekiel Onyegbule, has attributed his side’s defeat at home against Nasarawa United to fatigue and carelessness from the players.
Heartland FC suffered its first ever home defeat to the Solid Miners at the Okigwe Township Stadium on Sunday.
The defeat was its second in the league this season and the manner in which it came angered Head Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, who later passed on his post match interview duty to his assistant, Ezekiel Onyegbule.
The Nazi millionaires’s assistant coach confirmed to the media that the team managed to train once before the match due to renovation of the pitch and it affected the players.
He also added that the players lost concentration in key moments of the match, which cost them at least a point.
“It’s a team work, we win and lose together as a team, but it’s unfortunate we lost the match, our carelessness cost us dearly, but Heartland is a work in progress.
“We lost at home, we also have equal opportunity of fighting for a win on the road.
“Fatigue and carelessness cost us the match, and then, we came back from Katsina and our pitch is still under renovation, we trained just a day before the game,” he said.
