Wike, Wife Grace Wedding Of Owhor’s Daughter
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike and his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzette Nyesom-Wike, yesterday, graced the wedding of Miss Mildred Owhor in Port Harcourt.
Mildred, who is the daughter of former Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Frank Owhor, tied the nuptial knot with her heartthrob, Eskor Brown at the Ecumenical Centre, Abonnema Wharf Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The wedding ceremony was attended by both Owhor and Brown family members, close friends of the couple and well wishers.
The officiating minister, Rufus Abam, in his sermon titled: ‘Power of Planning in Marriage’, enjoined the couple to develop a plan for their marriage with the ultimate aim of salvation of their yet unborn children.
He said the couple must of necessity plan the number of children they intend to have ahead of time, because taking care of children require both emotional and mental stability.
According to him, it would be morally offensive for any couple to bring children into the world and not care about their wellbeing.
The pastor also urged the couple to plan their finances and endeavour to live within their means to avoid unnecessary financial pressure.
Climax of the ceremony was the presentation of the wedding certificate to the couple by the first lady of Rivers State, Justice Eberechi Suzette Nyesom-Wike.
The wife of the governor commended the couple, and explained that the certificate which was handed over to Mildred for safe custody was evidence of the marriage solemnisation.
Notable personalities at the wedding include: Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo; Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani; Chief Judge of Rivers State, Hon. Justice Adama Iyaye-Lamikanra; state PDP Chairman, Amb Desmond Akwor; Head of Service, Barrister Rufus Godwins; and some members of the State Executive Council.
Also present at the event were former governor of Rivers State, Sir Celestine Omehia; former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Austin Opara; former President, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), O.C.J. Okocha (SAN); and elder statesman, Chief Sergeant Awuse.
