HFN Set For Further Competition
President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, Sam Ocheo, has stated that the federation is bracing up for a serious change in approach as far as running its programme for the rest of the year is concerned.
Ocheo, speaking in a chat with Tidesports source further revealed that the international invitation which is supposed to be hosted in Nigeria by June 2020 will most likely have to be postponed till next year if there is no end to the lockdown directive by the end of the month of April 2020.
He added that serious plan is underway to also look for a way to merge the handball league to one phase after the inability to start the league slated for Sunday April 12.
“We have the international invitation which is incidentally named after me; we have it coming up in June. In few weeks, if this lockdown is not removed.
I may need to announce a postponement of that till next year because if at the end of this month, the lockdown is removed, we can’t start inviting teams from neighbouring country yet. Then it also depends on when the lockdown is removed, we may have to rush our programme this year.”
