Islamic Leader Assures Support For Govt Policies
The Leader and Vice Chairman of the Rivers State Council For Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Nasir Awhelebe Uhor, has commended the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for embarking on the dualisation of the Airport access road, saying it would aid movement of travellers to and from the Airport.
Alhaji Uhor, who made the commendation recently at the State Secretariat of the Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs, was speaking on the sideline of the visit of the Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Polinus Nsirim, to the Muslims, asking them to support government programs and policies and to live in peace at all times.
The Islamic Leader also thanked the saying State Governor for citing a cooking gas plant some where around Rumuolumeni in Port Harcourt, saying that such projects would provide employment for the teeming Youths and advised the government to decentralize the plant to enable people have access freely.
Uhor also assured that Muslims in the state would continue to rally round government policies and programmes with a view to moving the state forward, adding that the Holy Quoran enjoined all Muslims to pray for leaders and see government as ordained by Allah.
While appreciating the efforts of the state government for protecting the citizenry against deadly deceases, the Islamic scholar called on Muslims in the state to ensure that their spouses and children within the age of innoculation get immunised against deadly deceases and maintain children-spacing policy,
According to him, “The Holy Quoran advises adherents of Islam to wean children after thirty months of birth for the perfect health of mother and baby.”
He enjoined all Muslims to embrace the slogan of the Rivers State Government, saying “I endorse our state Our Responsibility” campaign.
