D’Tigers Player Donates Basketball Kits To Teenager
Nigeria D’Tigers player, Godsgift Chiuwa has donated basketball kits to a teenager in the DA-F Basketball Holiday Camp / Clinic, in Port Harcourt.
He stated that the move was to appreciate what others did for him when he was playing in DA-F clinic.
Chiuwa presented the kits during the closing ceremony of the DA-F Basketball holiday camp / Clinic over the weekend at the basketball court, Old Port Harcourt Township.
“I am a product of the DA-F Basketball Clinic. I came to witness what DA-F have been doing many years ago. I came here to give others what the clinic has given to me”, Chiuwa said.
According to him, he was in the clinic in 2014 and left for United States (US) in 2017 to play for St. Jordan University.
He appealed to teenagers to start playing the game in their early age, saying that he did not have privilege to start the game early.
“The kids need to start the game early, because I discovered that in Nigeria so many players started the game late, but it was not so in US”, he stated.
The St. Jordan University player revealed that the DA-F clinic taught him the fundamentals of the game, but expressed sadness that many Nigeria basketball players lack the fundamentals of the game.
“One of the problems is that there is discrepancy at competition level.
I think every Kid in this Clinic can make it, because you people are better positioned than me when I was in the clinic,” he added.
