Agriculturalist Urges Youth To Be Entrepreneurship Conscious
The Chairman, Agro-Allied Trade Group of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Emmanuel Ogbonda, has emphasised the need to re-orientate the youths towards self development as a tool in combating the issue of insecurity across the state.
Speaking during the official opening of Kefo Suites in Port Harcourt, the Agriculturalist urged the public to talk more of entrepreneurship consciousness among youths. Ogbonda noted that the orientation of the youths is geared towards self development, stressing the need for them to acquire skills and not wait for white collar jobs.
“We should talk less about insecurity and put things into action by encouraging our youths to start seeing themselves differently because we have dwelt much on insecurity, they are now taking advantage of the situation,” he said.
He encouraged them not to be ashamed of starting petty business as diligence and hard work usually yields fruit, adding that they should listen to those who have succeeded.
Ogbonda also encouraged those in business to be passionate about what they do, while calling on the government, corperate organisations stakeholders and meaningful individuals to be involved in equipping the youths with skills.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Solomon Eke, has assured a safe and peaceful trading environment for businesses to thrive in the area.
