2018/2019 NPFL: Rivers United Unveils 21 New Players
Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt has unveiled 21 new players for 2018/19 in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The newly signed players were unveiled at the weekend at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt ,Rivers State
Speaking after the unveiling of the new players, the Club’s General Manager, Chief Okey Kpalukwu said that signing of the new players is part of the commitment of the club to succeed in the NPFL and other competition that the club will participate in the season.
“Our focus is to do things differently and be successful in every tournament we find ourselves.
“Although we want to rewrite our mistakes of last season and strive for excellence in the new season,” Kpalukwu explained.
The pride of the state will begin their campaign for the new season of the NPFL away from home to encounter Niger Tornadoes.
The opening match against Rems Stars was postponed due to team gaining promotion to the elite division we’re involved in the Nigeria National League super eight playoffs in Aba.
The newly signed players are: Bamba Drissa, Waslu Jimoh, Onyedidachi Bright (FC Ifeanyi Ubah), Ovunda Darlington,(SKE FC), Nelson Okwa(Go round FC), Chinda KAka(Lobi Stars) other include Nafiu Kabuga(Kano Pillars), Ossy Martins(Abia Warriors), Ubakanmi Peter (MFM), Ugochukwu Leonard (Emyimba FC), Ogar David, Uchenna Martins (Cynosure FC), Kunle Odunlami(Sunshine Stars), Abdulsalam Yusuf (Osun United), Konan N’Gouan(FC Monana of Gabon), Ademola Adebambo(Road Safety FC),Emekayi Temple (Dolphins Youth FC),Dunda Chidozie (Port Harcourt city FC) and Joel Uchehukwu (Rivers United Feeders).
