Societal Dev: Deputy Rector Harps On Primary Education
The Deputy Rector (Academic) of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Dr Moses Neebee has said that primary education occupies the most important position in the development of education in every society.
Dr Neebee stated this in his office when he received an award from Gere Indigenous Progressive Association (GIPA) in Gure Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State last Thursday.
The award was given to him for his selfless contributions toward education development in the community.
Neebee, who is also the patron of the association also tasked members of the association to join hands in the development of the community, noting that unity and togetherness were the only way that can attract development in the community.
According to him, any educationalist that does not harp on the benefits of education to the younger ones was not helping to the growth and advancement of the society, adding that the youth of the community were lagging behind in terms of education.
He expressed happiness over the award adding that the award was a recognition by his people to reciprocate his little efforts in the community.
He thanked members of GIPA for the award, adding that he would be part of the association to add more support to the association of the community.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the association, Mr ThankGod Wugah commended Dr Moses Neebee for receiving them in good faith adding that the association would do its part in the development of the community.
According to the chairman, the association was formed to galvanise support for the developmental needs the community with a view to adding more value toward the growth of the youths and the community at large.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector.
